Vintage & Very Rare Killarney, Florida Fire Police Badge

Killarney is an unincorporated area near Orlando, Florida.  For years they had a volunteer fire department.  Several years ago, the company was rolled into the Orange County Fire Department.

Silver color uniform badge marked "Killarney Fire Police 4171".  At center is a beautifully enameled State of Florida seal.

Condition is excellent and pinback works perfectly.  Measures 2-1/2" tall x 1-7/8" wide.

Antique Lot of 8 St John Ambulance Service Cabinet Photo Cards & 2 Badges

Lot of 1880's - 1900 photographs are members of the St John Ambulance Service, most in dress uniforms.  Also included are 2 badges.  One is silver colored, second is brass.

5 Cards measure apx 4-1/2" x 6-1/2", 2 are 3-1/4" x 5-1/2" and one is 3" x 4".

1939 Wedding Photo of an AFS (Auxiliary Fire Service) Wembley Firefighter and His Bride

Large photograph features the bride and groom standing on the steps of the church after the ceremony.  The groom is wearing his dress uniform with insignia and is holding his cap in hand.  Five other Wembley AFS firefighters in dress uniform are lined up on either side of the steps.  All firefighters are wearing an "AFS WEMBLEY" insignia.

Photo is mounted on a larger thick card stock.  Marked on the back "4th November 1939" and "British Auxiliary Fire Service Wedding"

Very good - excellent condition.  Wear to edges and corners of larger backing card.  Some fuzziness on photo around edges.  Bride and groom at center are clear and distinct.

Measures 8-3/4" tall x 6-1/4" wide.

Amazing condition photograph features a Boston, Ma fireman in uniform.  He is wearing a badge and kepi style dress cap

Card is marked in bottom margin with photographer's name and address "Glines 6 Winter St Cor. Washington Boston, MASS".

Black border card has gold edging.

Thick card stock cabinet card is in amazing NEAR MINT Condition.  Rounded corners, edges and surface have only the slightest trace of wear or scratches.

1880's Cabinet Card Photograph of Worcester, Massachusetts Firefighter in Uniform with Badge

Great piece of 19th century fire fighter memorabilia ~ in MINT condition.

Amazing condition photograph features a very young Worcester, Ma fireman in uniform.  His badge with slight magnification says "Worcester Fire Dept 37".

Card is marked in bottom margin with photographer's name and address "Dresser  406 Main St. Worcester, MASS".

Thick card stock cabinet card is in amazing MINT CONDITION.  Rounded corners, edges and surface is absolutely mark, scuff and scrape free.  Very few 130 year old photographs remain in this condition.

1849 Providence, Rhode Island Certificate Announcing Henry Grant Elected to Fireward

Great piece of 19th century fire fighter memorabilia.

Henry Townsend Grant was elected fireward for 1849.  This obsolete term was used to describe fire fighters and fire chiefs.  As he was elected to the position by the city council, we believe he was elected Fire Chief for the year.

Paper certificate has text as follows, the seal of The City of Providence and signatures of Henry Grant, city clerk Albert Pabodi and Mayor Thomas M. Burgess.

"State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

City of Providence

I Albert Pabodie city clerk of said City of Providence do hereby certify and make known unto all to whom these presents shall come; that Henry T. Grant has been by the city council of said city duly elected Fireward for the year ending on the first Monday in June next ensuing the date hereof.  In attestation thereof I have hereunto set my hand and have affixed the seal of said city this fourth day of June AD 1849  Albert Pabodi clerk.

City of Providence June 7 1849 personally appeared the above named Henry T. Grant and was duly engaged to the faithful performance of the duties of his above mentioned office, and to support the Constitution of this State and the Constitution of the United States before me Thom M Burgess Mayor".

Certificate measures 14" x 8-3/4"

Overall excellent condition.  Text and signatures are sharp.  Certificate was folded in quarters and shows some wear, small tears and a few small holes on the creases and edges.  Certificate is solid and complete.  Would look great framed.

1880's Cabinet Photograph of Named Atlanta, Georgia Fireman with Horse For Engine Wagon

Photograph features Fireman R. A. Hardy of No. 8 Engine House Atlanta, GA holding two horses for the horse drawn fire engines.  He is wearing a Kepi style cap and badge on a vest.  Cobblestone road shows in front of fire barn.  Just past open open door on the fire barn is a wall plaque partially visible that says "AF" which is probably part of AFD for Atlanta Fire Department.

A small boy is peeking in the window.

Photo is mounted on a larger thick card stock.  Marked on the back with the fireman's name, company and city.

Very good - excellent condition.  Wear to edges and corners of larger backing card.  photo is lightly darkened with age however the image is distinct and sharp.

1898 Souvenir Badge National Firemen's Tournament Omaha, Nebraska

Brass badge has a bar at the top that reads "Souvenir".  Lower section is a shield shape and is decorated at the center with a ladder, pike, helmet, nozzle and speaking tube. Marked "1898 National Firemen's Tournament Omaha, NEB  Sept 5-10". 

Badge measures 2-1/2" tall x 1-3/4" wide.

Pinback works perfectly.

Lot of 2 Antique Tin Type Photographs of 3 Firefighters in Dress Uniforms...All From the Same Company.

Photographs date to apx 1860-1870.

Hand tinted pictures feature the firefighters in black trousers and red tunics.  Faces have also been hand tinted.

First Original picture shows two firefighters in dress uniforms.  Both are wearing parade ribbons, collar insignia and helmets.

Second photo shows a single firefighter standing and wearing the same uniform as the men in the first picture.

Pictures measure apx 4" x 2-1/2".

Excellent condition.  Light bends and dings as expected in tin type photos of this age.  The images of the firefighters are well defined and detail is very good. Pictures show images a little brighter than they are in real life.

Good condition.  Photo shows some scratches and is bent around the corners.  Picture image is broken away at edges.  The image of the two firefighters is well defined and detail is very good.  Pictures show images a little brighter than they are in real life.

Copper & enamel badge is a large heraldic eagle perched on a red, white and blue shield.

The top bar is marked "Reading, PA" and the second bar is marked "Pennsylvania State Firemens Convention 1923".

Marked on back "175th Anniversary of the founding of Reading, PA

150th Anniversary of the Reading volunteer fire department

Sept 30th - Oct 6th 1923".

Photograph was taken during a parade as spectators are visible and another horse is visible right behind.  Photo shows a horse drawn fire engine driven by a fire fighter in full uniform.  The wagon is just passing a Shell Gas Station.

Black and white picture is marked on the back "10/29/39" and "Pittsburgh Penna. Engine Company 6".

Photograph measures 4-3/8" x 2-7/8".
